Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's debut female singer on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013 with five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her independent single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then, wanted to have her perform on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna was contracted with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On October 21 2016 she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing in her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. She also appeared in two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was followed by a video in September. Then on the 9th of November 2018 she dropped two additional singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 she then released two more singles called One and Pedigree. One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then she released the song as a solo single on her debut album. In February of 2019 a music video was released to promote the song. It already has more than 3 millions views on YouTube in its debut week. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
